The gaze of a single raven captured my interest and motivated me to paint him. Transferring his visage to canvas demanded a minimalist format. He is cunning and ruthless in his dominance of the backyard. He fights with Blue Jays and passing Hawks and fears none. His feathers have beautiful sheen that provides a stark contrast to the blue of the sky. Though he is a wild creature, his silhouette is common to most in North Americans.
The original oil painting of this crow was created on a small 6x6 canvas.
