This abstract painting began with a well-recognized symbol, the fleur-de-lis. It has a long history as a symbol of royalty and power, but has since fallen to a status of curious design. Bold yellow and orange are contrasted with green and blue to create the modern design. Textures and colors collide and combine for a contemporary look to the historical pattern.
