Description
A lone woman walking along an empty street was the original inspiration for this minimalist figurative oil painting. The contrast between the gray concrete walls and the yellow stripe that paralleled the sidewalk captured my interest. The bright sunshine that cast her shadow against the blank space behind her kept my brush moving with purple paint and a warm, glowing orange hue. Warm and cool colors collide in the abstraction that emerged as the painting of the walking figure developed. Texture, lines, and a city curb are part of the contemporary urban scene.
