Description
This original oil painting was created on a 24x30 inch gallery canvas with oil paints. It was inspired by my life-long love of the sea and all things nautical. Growing up on Puget Sound and the Hood Canal in Washington State, boats were always a part of my life. When I was young many summers were spent fishing off the Pacific Coast with my father. A run of salmon, a school of whales, or a fishing hole full of red snapper, cod, or sole were the highlight of the day. The rusty hull of this red fishing boat is the focus of the painting. The reflections of red contrast wonderfully with the blue reflection of the sky in the water. I can still smell the fresh salty air.
