This image was created from a photograph I took at the 2013 Cascade Cycling Classic Bicycle Race in Bend Oregon. The women were lining up at the starting line for the criterium stage of a five day race. It was late afternoon and the temperature was still 92 degrees. When the race started, the action was fast. Moving at 25-28 miles an hour, these amazing athletes raced for 55 minutes around a three block radius. When the group passed, the wind stirred the crowd like a thunderstorm waiting to strike. Passing just feet from their spectators, it was an experience like no other. Energy, compassion, and endurance ruled the evening.
I've been selling originals and reproductions of my work online since 2007. People all over the world have purchased my art and it is wonderful to connect with so many.
