Sky and earth were the inspiration for this abstract landscape painting. It is easy to see what is above us: blue, gray, moist clouds, and sunshine. It is a lot harder to see what is below us: minerals, stone, rocky geology, lava formations, sand, pebbles, and rugged boulders. I am fascinated by both. Blue sky of heaven, some vegetation, and then the golden, purple colors of the natural geology beneath our feet all work together in this modern, contemporary acrylic painting. It is gritty, grungy, colorful, and bright with dribbles and scratches, texture and a natural mood of loneliness.
