Artist's Description
The starting line of the 2013 Cascade Cycling Classic Race in Bend, Oregon is the source of this image. The late afternoon Stage 4 Criterium Race is a great spectator sport for those that lack the endurance and grit to compete with these amazing athletes. It takes place yearly in downtown Bend, Oregon and encompassed several city blocks. The speed and energy of these men spins electricity in the hot afternoon temperatures of 92-95 degrees. Circling the area at speeds of 32-35 miles per hour, a hot wind slaps the bystanders as the cyclists pass just a few feet away. Witnessing the race live is like no other experience.
