Artist's Description

Radishes are one of the earliest vegetables to emerge from my garden. They remind me that warm weather is coming. I love to grown and harvest them because they flourish when other plants are still asleep. They are colorful and tasty. Their color and early appearance in my backyard is what inspired this oil painting. The scent of early spring that these little vegetables provide is captured well in the words of Martin Armstrong in his poem, "Honey Harvest." Here are the words to his poem:
