Description
Arranging subjects foir a still life is always an interesting endeavor. First there is the selection of objects, how many, which ones, what colors. Then there is the arrangement, considering the left, the right, forward, or backward. It all can become such a muddle. This painting resulted after a multitude of attempts at composing just the right arrangement. I was frustrated and dumped several limes into a vase thinking I was going to give up for a while. But, just when I was about to give up, the light caught the vase and the limes seemed to sparkle. Then I knew that my subject had talked to me. This painting is the result. It was created on a 18x24 inch canvas with oil paints. I am pleased to be able to offer prints and hope that someone may find the image as pleasing as I did.
